Model Release Requirements

A model release is basically a legal release signed by the subject of a photograph, giving permission to publish the photograph in one form or another. A model release is required for the publisher who is publishing an identifiable photo of a person, like a celebrity. The photographer isn't necessarily the publisher of the photograph, however, if a photographer is to an publish image, they also need a model release to protect themselves. This is because a photograph is diferent when the  image itself is available for sale, or the image is used to promote a product or service.
